This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.Causes:
- Due to some virus effects.
- Intentionally disabled by the user/admin.
Method 1:
Before anything else, scan your system to see if it is infected by a virus. Use this step by step instruction, Virus Removal.
Method 2: (Not applicable with Windows XP Home Edition)
- Click Start > Run. Type in "gpedit.msc" (no quotes) and click OK.
- In the Group Policy settings window,
Method 3: Registry Edit
- Select User Configuration
- Select Administrative Templates
- Select System
- Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
- Select Remove Task Manager
- Double-click the Remove Task Manager option
- Click Start > Run. Type in "regedit" (no quotes) and click OK.
- Search for HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ System.
- Look for: DisableTaskMgr. Click on REG_DWORD. Value: 1=Enable this key (disables TaskManager); Value: 0=Disable (actually enables TaskManager)
- Close RegEdit and Reboot your machine.
